Help The Halton Islamic Association build The Rahmah Islamic Centre 

The city of Burlington is a rapidly growing city in Ontario with an estimated Muslim population of 5,000. There is currently only one Masjid in the city of Burlington (Halton Masjid, HIA) with a capacity of 250 Musaleen, The Halton Islamic Association currently rents external facilities to serve the growing community in Burlington. 

The Halton Islamic Association (HIA) operates a daily Quran school with over 120 students, a full-time Hifz program and a weekend school in addition to daily prayers, Jumu’ah Prayers, counselling and coaching services and various youth activities. Due to limited space, there is a long waiting list for the programs offered which directly impacts our children and youth programs.

Expansion Plans

The new centre, Rahmah Islamic Centre, will InshAllah house a large prayer hall with a capacity of 750 Musaleen, a large parking lot with 260 parking spots, a school with 11 classrooms, a large gym for our youth activities, a banquet hall for our community gatherings as well as outside play areas and courts.

The estimated cost of the project is $10 million. Alhamdulillah as of April 2022, we have raised $2.5M and we have commitments from the community for another $2M. 

A total of 4.1 acres of land has been purchased to make this expansion possible. InshAllah we will begin construction in 2023.
