Help us raise money to winter survival kits for Toronto's homeless.

Hi everyone! We have organized a donation drive to provide Exchange and Change (a local charity) with the items they need for their annual "Project Winter Survival". Once the campaign ends, the funds raised will be used to purchase items such as socks, hats, and gloves, which we will pack into kits for the charity to deliver to the homeless.

There are now an estimated 10,000 people homeless in Toronto alone, every night – a number that has almost doubled over the past few years.  Every year, Project Winter Survival distributes survival kits to close to 200 frontline social service agencies and outreach programs; the survival kits are given to Toronto’s homeless population. Project Winter Survival does not directly hand out survival kits to individual homeless people; instead, we donate them to the true experts — agencies and outreach people – who often use them as communication tools to start conversations so that they can help the homeless. Ultimately, their goal is to drive these conversations toward encouraging homeless people to seek refuge in shelters, but the s urvival kits are available to those who are reluctant to take that step.

All product prices include shipping and applicable taxes. Once a donation is made for a specific item, the Unity Values Foundation will work with Kits for a Cause and their procurement partners to ship the item directly to the charity noted in the campaign. Tax receipts will be provided by the Unity Values Foundation. Payments and Receipts are processed by the Unity Values Foundation. The Unity Values Foundation does not take a percentage of the donation. All funds donated are used for the procurement of the donated item. All donations need to be directed to a registered Canadian Charity,. If the chosen charity can not be reached or is not compliant Unity will work to send the donations to a related charity.
