One in every three children in Toronto is living in poverty. YSM provides numerous programs and services to move families forward out of poverty.
Every student deserves equal access to backpacks and essential school supplies to maximize their educational journey. By ensuring that all students are equipped with the necessary tools, we can empower them to make the most of their learning experience and pave the way for their success.
On Friday, August 25, Yonge Street Mission is hosting its annual Back-to-School Backpack event. With your support, we will give backpacks filled with school supplies to children and youth in need.
Our Vision
At YSM, we recognize each and every one of the 500,000 people experiencing poverty in Toronto has immense value.
As a developmental agency specializing in poverty-related challenges, we work closely with individuals, families, children, youth, and entire communities living with chronic poverty. Our aim is to help change lives, build communities and transform Toronto, to ultimately end chronic poverty in Toronto in one generation.
