Optimus SBR Gives Back! Help us fundraise for much needed Hygiene and Winter Warmth Kits that go directly to vulnerable people in our community who are experiencing homelessness and hunger.
The 2nd annual Community Care Kit Challenge is part of Optimus SBR’s 10th annual Play It Forward (PIF) Fundraiser. PIF involves a variety of fundraising activities that culminate in a mega event to celebrate and support local causes.
Proceeds from the Community Care Kit Challenge will support two local charities that “Play It Forward” everyday, Fort York Food Bank and Engage and Change.
We have included Hygiene Kits, Winter Warmth Kits, and Support the Greatest Needs options on the Wish list:
- Hygiene Kits are highly requested by the community accessing these services, and the food bank rarely has the supplies to meet those needs.
- Winter Warmth Kits will help those experiencing homelessness to keep warm in the coming months when the weather will be cold.
- Support the Greatest Needs supplies items based on what is most in demand at any given time.
Fort York Food Bank (FYFB) plays a critical role in preventing homelessness among Toronto’s most vulnerable populations. They make a significant impact by providing nourishment to individuals and families in crisis while offering counseling, training, and advocacy services. FYFB helps over 4,500 people and serves over 42,000 meals each year. The facility has seen demand for its services increase by about a third in the past year!
Engage and Change distributes survival kits containing essential supplies for the less fortunate, as well as individuals experiencing homelessness in Toronto. They impact the community by assembling and distributing kits to help them survive the winter months.
Optimus SBR is passionate about building a stronger community, improving social equity, helping those in need, and empowering others to make change. With the dramatic rise in food and housing costs this year, need for essential supplies is reaching heights never seen before. We challenge you to help us help those in need by donating kits to support these meaningful causes.
