My Story
The Covid pandemic has affected every person in different ways. For me, I was not able to honour my becoming a Bat Mitzvah in the way I had planned so I have chosen to start an ongoing Mitzvah program, the first one to commemorate my Bat Mitzvah. In each project I will be creating kits for people less fortunate than us.
About my project.
As most of you may know I have a very strong connection with camp. Camp is a place where I feel safe and supported and I want to help as many kids as I can to feel the same way as I do.
While camp is still a few months away, it is coming fast (yay)!
For my first mitzvah project I will be making kits to support JF&CS and together we will help make sure kids have many of the necessities they need for camp.
How you can help.
All the items listed below have been identified as being needed by JF&CS in order to build these kits. Please browse through and select as many items and quantities as you'd like to contribute. All donations are eligible for a tax receipt.
At the conclusion of the campaign, Jordy's Kits of Joy will then pack and deliver the kits to JF&CS for distribution to kids in need.
More about JF&CS Jewish Camp Subsidies
Sending a child or teen to camp can be prohibitively expensive.
Hundreds of Jewish families in the GTA struggle to afford the
necessities in life like paying for rent, utilities and food.
Offering their child a camp experience is a luxury that most of our
clients simply cannot afford. With the help of UJA Federation and
community donors, we are able to send most of our foster kids and
the children of our clients to camp, but a waitlist still exists
despite our best efforts. Last year, we sent more than 300 kids to camp!
Every donation will receive a tax receipt from Unity Values Foundation to the email inputted.
